My Background

I started playing the piano at the age of 9, and by 11, the neighborhood children had already started to ask for piano lessons! By the age of 12, I had played with The Florida Orchestra, attended the Interlochen School of Music and worked with the professors at USF and UCF. Later, I moved to NYC where I played for hundreds of commercials on radio and television and for blockbuster movies such as Men In Black and The First Wives Club. I also performed on television shows such as Saturday Night Live and The Rosie O’Donnell Show.

While in New York, my love of learning continued while having the honor of working with Billy Joel’s piano teacher. My love of teaching continued as well as I continued to take on both child and adult students.

Over the years, I realized that my enthusiasm for teaching had grown… in part because I enjoy showing people how to make cool sounds on the piano, but also because I love the relationships that I get to form with my students and their families.

It gives me great joy to help instill a lifelong love of making music in my students by helping them embark on their musical journeys. I’m able to teach all skill levels and I specialize in working with beginners of any age.

How My Business Came Together

As a little girl, I instantly loved taking piano lessons! However, my friends who were also taking lessons, were quitting because they didn’t enjoy the classes. Sadly, they quickly gave up on the notion of learning to play the piano.

When I decided to become a professional instructor, I was determined to find a way to make my lessons educational, but also entertaining! I didn’t want my students to dismiss their initial excitement for learning music just because they dreaded their weekly lessons. And with that in mind, Fun Piano Lessons was born!
